Pigs can’t fly – The Book
“To make a small fortune from farming, start with a big one” – This is a novel about a life’s journey of a man who gave up a corporate business life in Cape Town to spend more time with his family and take on a farm life in KwaZulu-Natal. Its written by my father-in-law and documents their family’s life of 8 years living on a pig and tomato farm with all its beauty and misfortune. It will hopefully explain my husbands dislike of tomatoes and all the other family secrets..

Summer in Berlin.. don’t be shy!
We have been in Berlin for two weeks now and the weather has been quite unstable. Typically for Berlin though, but sad for all of us craving the sunshine! If it would only show itself for a little bit longer then just a few minutes every now and then.. Come out sun, don’t be shy!! We want to wear these beautiful swim suits from Stella Jean, get sun kissed and be happy!

Paris Mon Amour
Sooo after a lot of preparations, planing and the wrapping up the house to leave Cape Town for almost 4 months, we have finally arrived in Berlin – with a short trip to Paris and the Provence for a friends wedding. Its been a while since I was last there – 11 years to be exact. Crazy how time flies! A few things that I can remember have changed, little things, like the post office logo.. ha! odd that that stood out…
The flair and avantgarde of this cosmopolitan city however has remained the same. Some things even got more noticeable for me since I live in Cape Town and crave the big city.. for example the multicultural and multicolored society and the beauty of it all! I loved to see the African ladies wearing the colourful robes of their country of origin – Chitenge & Schwe Schwe Fabrics everywhere!
The shopping experience was hmmm… expensive.. but extraordinary! Next Paris trip will however be in the time of sales in town. Beside the number of bespoke boutiques in Paris I was amazed about the fact that most shops had their own smell in the air – a part of marketing to attract all of the customers senses… pretty clever actually!
Here are a few images I liked from the trip.
