I met him at the last Design Indaba and fell in love with the design.. Attention to detail and the perfect composition of colour and pattern made Laduma Ngxokolo’s knitwear being featured in various blogs and magazines.
Laduma lives in Port Elisabeth where he was born and studied. With his men’s knitwear collection called “The Colourful World of the Xhosa Culture”, Ngxokolo was awarded the first prize in the international Design Competition in London last year – initiated with the winning of the national prize of the South African Society of Dyers and Colourists (SDC). Well done Laduma! We are waiting for more!!!

Cufflinks by Philippa Green
Cufflinks give a man that little something when wearing a shirt. They only catch the eyes of those who have the attention for detail and designer Philippa Green has thought of this when creating these. The sterling silver and resin cufflinks have engraved emblems of an anchor, a coin, the Protea flower or a springbok.

Stitched Magazine Covers
What a great idea! I love it!
“By using intricate and, at times, painstaking technique such as embroidery, I am disrupting the easy consumption of these images. For example I’m in the process of creating a series made up of covers of Vogue magazine that I cross-stitch into. This process makes the covers very tactile and it creates something that is impossible to reproduce on a large scale because each piece is unique and handmade. I feel I have taken it out of circulation and made it something of my own.” says Inge Jacobsen.
Tribute to Black Beauties
The Black Vogue issue shot by Ellen von Unwerth for the Italian Vogue is a homage to the versatile woman of this world. The grand admiration of women whose skin tone ranges from alabaster and mahogany to smooth onyx is shown in the May 2011 issue.
